FRP Pipe and Ductwork

FRP pipe and ductwork are mainstays in IPS's manufacturing expertise.  IPS's pipe and duct product lines include sizes from 1" diameter to 13'-6" diameter, vinyl ester and isophthalic resin systems, installed pressures services up to 250 psi, and external collapse service (vacuum pressure) as high as 50 ft of hydrostatic head (-21.66 psi).  IPS is experienced in the installation of above ground and subterranean installations. To our knowledge, IPS is the only FRP manufacturer to have large diameter FRP pipe (36" dia.) installed 50' below grade, under a river using the process known as directional boring.

IPS fabricates underground pipe to AWWA's stiffness classes (9 psi, 18 psi, 36 psi & 72 psi) and international pipe stiffness classes (2500 NM, 5000 NM & 10000 NM).  Pipe stiffness is attained by incorporating ribs to the pipe exterior.  IPS manufactures pipe ribs using contact molded FRP.

Some additional applications IPS's pipe and duct have been used in large quantities for are bridge drain pipe, odor control duct at municipal water, waste water and water reclamation treatment facilities, underground sewer pipe, reverse osmosis water facilities, power utility condenser pipelines, ozonated water for amusement parks and aquariums, ammonia processing, and potable water transfer.

Our shop manufactures a full complement of pipe and duct fittings such as smooth sweep elbows up to 36" diameter, mitered elbows, concentric reducers and eccentric reducers up to 13'6" diameter, custom tees, custom laterals, ANSI/ASME pipe, NBS PS 15-69 duct flanges, custom flanges, national pipe thread couplings/nipples, anchor lugs and integrated FRP pipe supports.  All pipe and fittings are fabricated to the accepted national specifications.  Please see IPS's SPECIFICATION page for specification details.
